A Study of STEAM Model Development and Assessment Method for Deep Learning: Through the Voice of Mimesis and Brontë

This research aimed to explore a humanities-based STEAM (H-STEAM) model for EFL undergraduates (n = 72) improve deeper thoughts and language proficiency in multidisciplinary setting. The H-STEAM focused on the integration of literature text, Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, philosophical analysis framework mimesis as humanities resource. For specific teaching learning method, various group activities based project-based (PBL) were fabricated enhance collaborative conceptual both inside outside classroom. Analyzing relationship Heights mimesis, learners shared adopted peers’ opinions with openness. They could problem-solving ability, caring, communication skills, self-reviewing practice when accumulating content knowledge generating creative ideas. study organized student-based assessment; self-assessment (SA) peer-assessment (PA). SPSS 25 was conducted correlation reliability SA PA, evaluation linguistic improvement. results indicate that facilitating PBL can be more workable through openness community caring. empower learners’ autonomy produce thoughts, which contribute deep learning. Consequently, this may suggest path develop higher education.
